Well since you asked, here are 4 of my 17,600 Gal Corn Syrup Tank Cars.

I just got 3 or 4 SilverStreak tank car wrappers to fix some of the ones I have with NO wrappers (Walthers), and some really badly messed up ones.
I'll pull them out next couple of weeks, fix the wrappers, install new couplers (Mantua) and post some photos!

Here a tank car that was painted up as a gag for a friend, Junior Tschache. Pronounced "shockey". His family was in the oil business years ago so the tank car, truck and semi trailer in the background were lettered for him.

 

One of my few tankcars, it is an Atlas car, repainted and decaled with several decal sets, but I can't remember which...

The four wheel cars look pretty cool as well !!! I really llike the "47" Ford ,least it looks like a '47...

 

I've got ton's of tank cars. Primarily Atlas 17,600 gal. & Intermountain 19,600 gal. Corn Syrup tank cars. I intend to install double shelf couplers, Proto:87 wheels and safety striping on all of them. Here is a photo of one that needs a patch out paint job and safety striping.

BTW, Atlas has some patch out VTGX 17,600 gal. Corn Syrup tank coming out that looks perfect for my prototype. I can't wait to get a couple of those.

 

A couple of Atlas tanks

 

I did not own any tank cars until about a year and a half ago, but have been adding them to the fleet. This group is the Atlas 23,000 Gal Oil Tank cars that I like as well as the Corn Syrup tank cars.



Painted with Floquil Signal Red and lettered with Oddballs Decals, like having another color of tank car rather than black.



Since my brother worked for Sun Oil, I had to have one of these, painted with Scalecoat II Black and lettered with Herald King Decals.



One of two Rohm and Haas Tank cars I did (Decal Set has enough for two cars), painted with Scalecoat II Black and lettered with Highball Graphics decals.

That tank car is so long it's a wonder it fits on the page :funny: Looks like a great weathering job too.

Thanks Mike. It was a tough build and hard to paint. I had to build a special holder to do the bottom and used spikes in the truck screw holes to do the top.
