Are you referring to "The Lady" pictured here? If so, you will have to mosey down to Portland, where she resides. She's an SP&S beauty.
Now that you mention it, I vaguely recall a club or a show in that vicinity. Probably someone such as Rick Beaber would know.
I believe the line you note as a bike trail is the one passing by the ex-NP Tenino depot museum? I cannot recall where that was chopped off. I remember when BN had it stuffed full of old forty foot box cars being stored. There is still track in place down through Roy towards Yelm. Which is not abandoned, even though some make the big error of that assumption. The MILW in your area is mostly still in place. Chehalis, northward up under I-5 at Maytown and on to Tacoma. Still in service. The line to Grays Harbor is gone, that was Maytown- west to Helsing Junction.
Yep, that lady Fitz. boy, being 19 as of last month I sure missed a lot. So that is an Ex NP line in T-9-0. so would this be ex MILW? I think it might be NP because of the Depot/Museum.
No. That is ex-NP and yet another depot museum. The old MILW tracks should have been behind your vehicle.
I've been out of town (& internet contact) for the past few days thus I missed the start of this thread. My road trip took me thru Centralia once each way. I live in Vancouver and model in HO. It's good to see someone else from SW Washington here.....someone that understands GREEN. My layout is steam logging themed and too many folks have little knowledge of the old growth BIG TREES and I generally spend a fair amont of time explaining that all the big trees on the West Coast were not Redwoods in CA. I haven't been on this site long, but welcome to the madness.
that would explain a lot of the abandoned track in centralia, I'll try to get some pictures of it. The BNSF is storing Centrebeams and well cars on it if it is MILW. Thank you JP, yeah I was one of three or four In state modelers on the MRR forums. I think I'm going to switch to here though, butted heads with a couple people because of a rule I live by. Yes I understand the green, it's everywhere!
The ex-MILW tracks are owned by Tacoma Rail, as part of their "Mountain Division." I am not certain who is using their line west of Maytown. It is supposedly leased out, so BNSF or some other entity indeed may be storing cars. I cannot think of any customers on that segment of line. Perhaps we could get you to do a bit of sleuthing and find out?
I may be on my own for a while, I was thinking of starting a Hill Roads group or a PNW group(for anybody who models this sasquatch infested territory).
