He might have been referencing a breed of chicken know as the Banty. You'll often see them running around barnyards. Kind of a tough, smaller sized, independent bird.
OK, I'll accept "independent", and might have been "tough"-ish once, but definitely not "smaller sized" at 6-2 and 185.
Entered the 45 - 49 year bracket just the other day! If what I'm going through now, health wise, is ANY indication of old age, I REFUSE to get any older!! However, Mother Nature and Father Time seem to have other ideas, that have NOT included me!
And here we thought that 20 years would be filled with fun and frolicking and vim and vigor and and and .... I forgot the rest ...
I don't even recall what were we even talking about? Knitting? How to baste a turkey? Color of tie to wear with this suit?
Of all the things I've lost, it's my memory I miss the most. However, look at my signature for my outlook. Ken, don't worry about your clothing, your wife has that under control..."You're NOT wearing THAT, are you????"
52, and if it's the miles not the years that count, I'm screwed!hboy: "We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing." George Bernard Shaw
61 but some days it feels like Dog Years. Some mornings I get up and feel great . Then I look in the mirror and say "who the hell is that" Mike
Most mornings I do not feel great, nor the rest of that day. I just did that a while ago. "What happened to my life?" You must have been looking over my shoulder?
Turned 54 last year. Had trains around most of that time. It could be worse. Some days it is. Rick H.
