How many of you fellas and gals(if there are any) would be up for N scale Century's as described above. Once atlas gets the ball rolling again, if they made them would you be up for buying them? I personally would get them in BN and SP&S as they were rather unique locomotives and they'd fit in perfectly into my mismatched fleet. How about you guys, come on open your hearts to your deepest desires I know you know you want one.
I know LL made a run, curse my being pretty young and missing all the good engines that I do want. the Kato BN F3's and F7's(I have 724), the SP&S RS1's atlas did, the Lowell smith F3's, and all those other good ones. I got lucky though as I'm catching up and did get the pride(s) of my fleet SP&S #750 and the BN exec. set.
I'd be DOWN AS HECK for an SP&S unit or two, and something in burgindy CP. THis thread sure is hot for 10pm; take a hint, Atlas? LOL
If it wore a nice coat of black with some worms on it, or blue with a can opener, or maybe even a nice yellow and green RDG scheme, I sure would. I missed the LL offerings and can still find PC units for the big 6 axles here and there. Just need to find room in the budget.
I haver the LL pair of SP&S units, they run nice. Would def be in for a pair of monster Centuries in SP&S or BN. With all the Pre-BN power I have, I could run an Inside Gateway train from the early 70's rainbow era. WP, CB&Q, BN, GN, SP&S (no NP yet)...
awesome, sounds like we're building steam, 5 or 6 folks on the N scale.org Facebook page are up for, I'm sure if I did a youtube video a couple of my Subscribers would be up for it.
FWIW, I recall we're about to get an NP U-boat from an old face in N scale These Alco's would be another welcome late-roster addition for us pacific-northwest nerds.
The ConCor C-636 isnt good enought for you? Did I really say that? Even though the C&O never had the before mentioned power I have always thpught the C-636 was a great looking piece of equipment. I would be tempted. I'm suprised someone has done the shapeways thing on one.
I'd be up for some, but Atlas has been staying away from SP&S for some reason.........virtually no rolling stock (2 boxcars?) and only a single RS1 way back in the open pilot era. They've done some additional RS1's and RS3's for Lowell Smith, but they were never released/cataloged by Atlas. They did sell some shells out of the parts department a year or so ago though, and they have a couple of cabooses on the preorder list, so maybe they're coming around. The centuries are a bit new for my era, but I'd still buy some to run at the club events.
Well, I don't own one. being 19 and missing all the good/rare N scale releases makes it kinda hard when you're playing catch up. MRL, I've got those cabeese on pre order. I wonder why atlas shy's away from them, Other than lowell smith Atlas has essentially a monopoly if they churn out unnumbered RS1's, 2's, 3's, GP9's(TT and no TT), S2's, and S4's. Kato would more than likely follow suit with F3s and F7s. I'm just modeling washington railroads at this point for my "Empire of the North" project so Anything in the pre BN 4, BN, MILW, or fits into a local road like PSAP or Seattle North coast will probably show up with some SP, UP, and SI.
I missed the Life Like SP&S run, but would probably buy a couple if Atlas produced a run. My era is early 50s to mid-60s and I prefer the tiger stripe scheme, but I would add some C424/425s to the roster. John
Alco only made 34 636's. Conrail wound up with 15 of those. I don't know if BN had the 628's or the 630's, but you prob can still find those in PC and CR or others.
