December 7, 1953: Chicopee Road 2-8-2 #539 arriving at Ravenswood, WV with the mail, Christmas packages and a few passengers. This 2-8-2 was fresh from an overhaul at South Point Locomotive Shop and remained active until retirement in 1958. This is the only steam locomotive I currently own, this scene and this locomotive (Athearn Genesis) make me wan to back date everything and model some point post-WWII. The Westerfield and F&C freight car offerings are also appealing.
I was never quite that far advanced for my modeling era, but did roll back to no later than the mid-later 1960's. I missed the greater variety of motive power. Also the dehumanized later era simply had no appeal. I prefer the timetable and train order days, of open and manned depots, more railroad people around with whom I could interact.
Mikelhh, Thanks for the compliment. Always good to have one from you! I really like your photo. Outstanding. Jim
My T-TRAK module in the layout at the Oklahoma city train show. And a G scale modular layout. Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk 2
At the bottom of your module, is that a fence line, with a cattle guard road crossing? if so, I am curious as to how you modeled it?
I forget what brand it was (not GMM) but it came on a sheet of etched brass. Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk 2
I have been working on some Stewart G39 Ore Jennies, and here are 24 of them behind a Stewart C630 & C628. These pictures were taken at the Strongsville Model Railroad Club. Here is a video I tried to make showing all the 24 ore cars. Rick J
