Midway through today I noticed that the site screen was much brighter and the colors even brighter making it a bit of an eyestrain to read. I initially though that maybe my computer just up and had a mind to change it's settings. However I only notice it here upon checking. None of the other places on the web show that abrupt bright color change. Please tell me that this is temporary.
I sent off a note when it happened and have not yet had a reply. Due to some visual difficulties....I use my computer in a darkened room. This is a real problem for me. If I darken the screen, all other websites are too dark. There should be an icon in the lower left to allow you to change appearance, and it is not there. Dave
A water line on the refrigerator ice maker broke. The wife and I were busy fixing and cleaning up the kitchen. Took three almost hours for repair and mess eradication. Replied to your PM a short while ago.
Charlie hinted at some updates a few days ago on another thread. I'm going to assume this is temporary.
I like it....once I got over the surprise. Also, it took a moment to locate the log on area at the bottom of the screen instead of the top.
I've never really cared one way or the other about the gray and orange, but this White on gray I don't like. I'd rather just use the vBulletin standard scheme.
The more I view the new format, the better I like it. The higher contrast appears to make text easier to read and the photos seem to stand out better and have sharper detail, at least for my eyes.
Well, I tried it all day. Had to break out the migraine pills. Seriously. Now that it's getting dark out, I need to not use the forum until daylight again. See ya in the morning!
On other vBulletin forums I belong to, there is a button in the bottom bar that allows to change from how the forum appears back to vBulletin default. For some reason, I don't see it here. If it was, y'all that are bothered by the new appearance could go to the default.
It's getting brighter out and I'm back. If you read my first post, last line: "There should be an icon in the lower left to allow you to change appearance, and it is not there." In fact, it's mention in this forum's FAQ's with the caveat that if it isn't there, you cannot adjust appearance. Very strange that it is not. Dave
It is my understanding that there is a lot of software work to set up that option on vBulletin. For simple sites running vBulletin right out of the box, it is not a big deal. All the ads and add on custom features have to be set up for both sets of background options. A lot of extra work for the volunteer staff involved in that. We rely on the advertisements to help help fund the sight so, to making a simple page is not an option.
