I am in the process of drawing one up... hopefully, it will not be too long before I am done and can post it. JMS
Here is a quick sketch of my track plan. I am working on a nicer version using color pencils with more detail. If you have any questions... feel free to ask. JMS
It is a duck under. However, as with the board that connects to one side of my staging, it can be removed. There are connectors in the electric wires and in the track that I can disconnect and remove the board. I would have to remove two switches(they were not there originally, but as in the real world, things change) and some of the scenery would be damaged... but, it would not be all that bad. Also, if the two boards were removed(staging and duck under) I can pull the whole town of Wilson away from that corner and get it out of the way if needed(HVAC/water heater replacement). I kind of had those thoughts in the back of my mind as I designed and built my layout. JMS
Just posting a pic of some NS run through power on an empty coal train. Here it is passing the hold out signal for Bayard Yard... about to cross the North Branch of the Potomac River. JMS
I caught a crew dropping ties along the Right of Way. The weather here is about to turn cold... so, I am going to keep an eye out for the tie replacement job to get under way soon. JMS
Very fine modeling! The scene is well set up and believable. The weathering and realistically posed figure brings it all together.
Thanks guys! I really enjoy running model trains... but, I have this fascination with setting up little scenes like this and taking a bunch of photos... JMS
Well, the MoW gang was out and about on the sub yesterday. I took a couple of pics of them doing the tie work on the main at the Sand/Pan run around. Then, I drove down towards Bayard, WV where I got to see them do some good old fashion spike driving. Was able to talk to the supervisor, and he told me that because of the insulation joints at the signal, and the associated wiring and cables... this small section of ties had to be replaced by hand. I am hoping to go out later this week and see how they are progressing. Enjoy! JMS
