The old Plaza Hotel in Rosenberg, Texas. On my photo diorama. On the Rosenberg NTRAK modules. How it looked back in the early 1900s.
I wanted to make these for my N-scale layout. They are still in use on the Ohio River Sub. CSX. Curtis
Here is the piers on my N-scale layout. Not liking the concrete color. Still need to make the abutments. Curtis
Shaped them out of wood, then covered them in drywall compound. Sanded them smooth, then a saw blade to cut the lines. Had to give up on the arches, to hard. Having trouble matching up the colors. Curtis
I like the look of them, they just appear brand new, I think. Given the drywall compound coating, have you thought about one of the stains made for scenery? I recall Woodland Scenics had/has a set for doing plaster-cast rock work, should have usable colors.
Chicopee Road GP30 #3285 idles in front of Tower 435 in Ravenswood, WV awaiting orders, February 1968. I applied my new decals from Highball graphics to this unit, just had to get some shots of it. Still needs more Solvaset attention, but I'm pleased with the results so far.
