I find that I prefer using the full site on my tablets, instead of tapatalk. Looks fine.

I am ambivalent, but can't really offer constructive criticism since I really know nothing of software or websites or their workings except as a user. I have said on other venues, if not already on this one, that this computer is little more than a toy to me. I use it for social media and info searching. I don't play computer games. I am interested in possibly using it in a CAD mode for certain things.
I will just wait to see what shakes out. I would appreciate having my avatar back. I wish I knew how to take a photo and enter it here, but I don't.
I appreciate the hard work that is being done and the opportunity to network with fellow travelers and hobbyists in railroading. I also appreciate the opportunity I was given to share my prototype knowledge and stories through the thread I host.
As we used to say when I was in the Army, "keep on keepin' on!"

Charlie- You should be able to re-load your old avatar. Go to the menu at your User Name, (upper right), and click "Avatar".

I've been here for a long time. This is the 3td or 4th format change since 2002? I'm sure, just like in the past, the boys will work out all the bugs & like the past, it will be better than it was.

And make changes on consumer end as needed. I did, it's fine with all the fluff gone.

Oh. I'm staying w/ ya. As I posted, I will continue to donate. When I say if it "aint broke, don't fix it", that is from my prospective, not the administrators. I appreciate and respect much work and hours that went into this effort. That is THE reason I have donated over the years. Like the best train engines, I may grumble and groan, but I will still $upport and that is no accident.

At this point in time, I don't think the question should be " Do I like or dislike the new TB', but rather do I have the patience or not to let the "powers to be" finalize and fine tune the install of the new software, then make that decision. To be up front about it I have some doubts about, at this point. For one thing the text , in some places, is too small and too light to see very well with 75 year old "plastic' eyes. It seems to be rather user unfriendly because I , for one along with many others, are finding out, the hard way about avatars and signatures . Yes I, thanks to Wolf, have added my own avatar but can not find any instructions from the board or users suggestions on how to add pictures to my signature as I had BU, Yes, I know how to get to that window but from there I am lost in adding an image. It has [sigimage] or something similar twice but what is next ??? See the signature area below on this post.

So to reiterate my earlier comment, I shall wait and see before giving up.

BTW, I should say also that I appreciate all the work and personal time applied to this upgrade by all the men doing the work.

    Carl,

I am working on the upgrade with very limited time so I have not been able to explain everything. I really am just learning myself about all of the features so there is no way that I can answer all of the questions yet. In a few weeks hopefully I will know a lot more about it.

To get images in your signature, upload them to a RailImages album, then use the URLs to get them into your signature in the editor. If you need help, we can help you.

Thank you Charlie. I personally appreciate everything you do for TB and thank you for your mucccccho work. However, I just attempted to add a logo from my album to the signature and was told the signature was 6 lines too long. I erased the picture attempt and removed all the empty lines which left only my name, city, and club name. I am still seeing that my signature is 3 lines too long. I closed out the attempt to edit the signature and what ever we see at the bottom of this post is what I have.

    Thank you,

    Carl

PS: as you can see, the changes I made and saved did not take. ? ? ? ?

Still many settings for us to learn and possibly adjust, if such is available.

Not really a fan at this point but will find enough patience to see what happens. Really don't like current color combinations (especially the pink). Miss having photos at the top. Miss having the number of people on in a particular forum. On and on I guess... but I am sure it will be better soon. Last but not least I do not find it as user friendly either. Very hard to see separations between posts as well. Keep on going on guys... I'm sure it will come around!

If you are using FireFox, load into your add-ons Color That Site! 0.16.1
    Chrome has colorzilla, others.
If you have AdBlockPlus, you can remove all sorts of things, first for me was the "social media" icons, next was the rss icons.
Pink is gone. I ran it to almost black and white and came back a notch.

I have been off TrainBoard for over a month (or two?). Came back to see this all new format. I have to admit I was initially disappointed, but as I poke and prod the new format.... i like it!

The posts do appear to run together with the white background, but if this is still a work in progress I'll keep doing what I do best.... lurking! (for the most part).

Charlie just installed that a short time ago. As stated repeatedly, we started out in a basic format. Much more needs to be done. It will take some time. A major change such as this, it doesn't happen overnight. It was either shut down for a rather prolonged period, or do it this way.

Better yet, how about an update on what you have been doing? Aside from dodging rain drops.... :)
