After months of doing absolutely no modelling, I finally continued with building the Rock Island depot. Since today, it has a roof!
Has me thinking, women's cosmetics.... Is it the same materials? If so, cost comparison? As there are often several places in many towns to get cosmetics, versus availability of Tamiya?
You have to be careful with women's cosmetics. Most come with sparkling mica. They also are not usually very inexpensive.
The Wife has a BIG makeup box full of old makeup. May have found a gold mine for weathering roads...car weathering....locomotive weathering. Just finish em off with dullcoat. Hmmmmmm
You guys are close, but no cigar. Russell is right...women's make up isn't recommended, for the reasons he stated... The cost alone makes it a bad choice...what you are seeing are finely ground pastels, which IS a low cost option. It's the APPLICATOR here that can be robbed-borrowed-purchased from the women's make up area that works well for this kind of weathering/application. Bruce
My wife doesnt use the 'sparkly' makeup...just the old plain jane stuff. Like I said...most women have makeup bags or boxes full of partially used stuff. I am having THE Wife go through hers right now I'll weather some old cars with it...see if it works BTW...she buys her makeup with HER money...so the stuff wont cost me even 'One Lucky Penny'...
Most womens eye shadow sets look like this... http://ftextures.com/textures/used-make-up-set.jpg At which time they are ready to throw em out anyways
