The N&W really liked the 4-8-0 Twelve Wheelers. They lasted on the railroad until the late 1950s as they were the only small non-articulated freight steamers they had at the end of steam. They pulled both freight and passenger on most of the systems branch lines.

Russell, I have a couple of N&W 4-8-0's one like yours and one of the large M-2 class, they are different and large engines. They were the standard power on the Abington Branch and well documented by Winston Link.

I managed to finish a couple of cars this week.

To further add to my NKP fleet of cars here is a Front Range 50' ACF Combination Door Boxcar, Extended Coupler Pockets and A-line Sill Steps added. Painted with Scalecoat II Boxcar Red, Floquil Platinum Mist and lettered with Microscale Decals.

Con-Cor 60' Greenville Box Car, removed the rivits as I was making the Thrall version with Welded Seams, Extended Coupler Pockets and A-Line Sill Steps added. Painted with Scalecoat II Boxcar Red and Floquil Platinum Mist Paints, then lettered with Mask Island Decals. Car is in Auto Parts Service for Ford.

In keeping with the NKP theme, a pair of Athearn GP9's entering the siding with a mixed freight.

    Thanks for looking!

I have a hunch the engineer running on that trestle would need strong nerves.

    But I thought 406 was a GP38-2 and had dynamic brakes. ;)

Nice teaser shot. Is that perhaps the old Revell engine house or bakery building?

Those window fans and weathering make this model really a cut above. You're an artist.

I agree. And those window fans, I used to see so often years ago- A detail I'd forgotten about!

Candy, those fans in the windows really look sharp! You can almost feel the sweat shop atmosphere.
