Would anyone know what happened with NSN being restarted? I know that someone bought the rights and asked anyone with original products to loan them to him so that they could be reproduced. I also heard that some people had a hard time getting their loaned items returned. The original outfit had several items that I would like to have.
http://www.wisemanmodelservices.com/ Web page copyrighted this year. We have acquired all the former "N Scale of Nevada" tooling and We are working to get the many kits and details from that line back into production. Site updated June 14, 2015
In a quick Google search I found "Wiseman Model Services". A line on the main page, middle bottom states, "we have acquired all the former N Scale of Nevada tooling....." Sent from my XT1058 using Tapatalk
As I recall it,...... One item the original NSN made was a very, very limited run of U33/36 bodies. I had ordered and my order was never filled. Managed to later find one.
Thanks guys. He offers very little of the original production and none of what I am looking for. Oh well. Can't win em all.
I loaned Keith a couple of the NSN items that I had and although he had them for a while, did did use them to create new kits (the 65' gon and the single Gunderson well car). I received both back in the last few months with an additional kit for my troubles. Curious, what kit are you looking for? As he does a lot of other work, maybe he just hasn't had the time or heard the demand for what you're looking for.
The lumber loads and the sugar beet sets would be great to have again..... I need to get some of the 65' gons from WMS though.
He hasn't made a big marketing deal about it... But I know for a fact that he has re-run the Piggy Packer. I know because I sent him my un-opened kit as a guide and he has now reproduced it. He does NOT have it listed on his website yet (for some reason), but if you contact him, I'm reasonably sure he can sell you a kit. Most people would probably buy the already built up packers. But this old piggly packer is a little different than the Ready to Run models now available.
After John passed and his family sold everything to Ebay seller Dan's train house, I won quite a few auctions of original NSN masters, mostly Southern Pacific locomotive detail parts (light packages mostly) along with quite a few other odds and ends. But it's the reason quoted above as to why I won't loan them out. I've been casting all the parts I need and would hate to lose the masters. Mike
I'd love to see the U33C. I would then chop to a U33B. Then again the SP and those light packages made the U33C stand out among the rest of the GE's, so that would be fun to model too.
I purchased a Retro for Atlas/Kato Gp-7/9 kit (RF05/06 HH/LH) but when I started trying to build it discovered that it is missing the extended drive shafts between the motor and the truck in the new frame. Does anyone have extras to sell or even a picture of what they look like so I could try to duplicate them? Thanks!
You most likely would have better luck posting this in a thread on its own rather than a thread dead for the last 8 years. You may try contacting an Admin such as @BoxcabE50 to see if he can make it it’s own thread as well. Also some pictures of where the missing parts are would be helpful.
