Some old images of N scale from 2006 that I found on my old computer.
An Atlas/Rivarossi Mikado with a resin "whale back" tender added and a doodle bug that I kit bashed.

Finally finished some cars this week!

Second Rock Island Evans Rebuild of old 1944 AAR Boxcars from various railroads. Made a new side sill as they were reinforced for the application of the 8' Door on the car. Car is a Branchline 1944 AAR Boxcar kit, did not install the roofwalk and changed out the plastic sill steps for A-line sill steps. Painted car with a mixture of Floquil PC Green darkened with Dark Green Paint. Lettered car with decals by Mask Island Decals.

Atlas 52' Blue Island Reefer kit, painted with Scalecoat II B&M Blue Paint and lettered with Herald King Decals.

Another view of my Athearn PRR GP9's on the Strongsville OH Club layout.

    Thanks for looking,

    Good stuff so far.

Last week I posted a photo with my work train in the bottom of the frame. I got a couple of PMs about it so I thought I would post the work train part again. Is it my creation? No. I found this in a junk box at my LHS in what seemed like a hundred pieces. I figure some craftsman modeler built this at least 50 years ago. It was in such bad shape it took me about a month to put it all back together again. If this person or someone who knows who made this is still around I would love to know the story of this one of a kind train. Jim:)

The new Franklin depot; it's a Santa Fe No. 1 depot plan.

That's Kathy's Springs in the distance in the second photo.

I've always wondered how the RI ended up with green box cars.

Yikes. Think I'll cross this place off my list of places to do any railfanning.

Mike, that's a fantastic bridge. I don't believe I've ever seen anything like it as a model. Looks like the Tunkhannok Viaduct.

    Hi,

My share for this week is this project finished last weekend: putting an old Atlas/Kato RS11 shell on one of the DCC-ready RS11 mechanisms.

I have a Pbase.com album with a photo essay showing the modifications, following the tips and
instructions that others have shared and posted on the internet which got me started :) :

    Several sample shots:

    Comments welcome.

BTW, Comcast finally, after 12 years, discontinued their personal webspace hosting and my ATSF_Arizona website URL "home.comcast.net/~j.sing" in my signature below has gone "poof". I still have all the material and will (someday) reload it all somewhere else. Especially the ATSF Trainmaster story.

In the meantime, my Pbase.com albums will have to suffice:

    All the best,

Thanks. It was scratchbuilt by Scott Lupia many years ago. When he took down his layout, he gave it to me. When I had to move, & take mine down, I knew it was going on my layout, someplace when it was put back together.. It is the highlight of my layout & its front & center when you walk into the room. BTW, its Paulsinskill Viaduct.
