I am curious to know if its possible to remove the track and ties from kato unitrack? I believe I did with bachmann stuff years and years ago. Is it possible with Kato? I would like to use there double crossover, or is it possible to transition it to Atlas track and cork..

Track yes, ties no. Ease of transition to Atlas depends on what code Atlas, Kato is 80. Atlas 55 will require some joiner customizing. Also do not bother with the Kato transition piece

Yup. I have a combination of Kato and Atlas C80 flex on many of my T-Trak modules. If using Midwest cork you'll need to shim the Atlas track up to match the Kato. Otherwise, no troubles at all.

Ok, so I am using atlas code 80. Would I need to just remove the joiner clips or is there more to it?

I've seen it done both ways at shows, but I use Unijoiners to connect to Peco code 80 with only a little filing and even then not every time I've done the experiment of using flex with Kato, (my layouts haven't been permanent til now).

I usually swap out the Kato Unijoiners for Atlas style. It works either way.
