We're pretty lucky here. There are two within 30 mins from here. One's now a museum, and the other, while tiny, the county is in the process of getting the funds to convert it to a museum.
DRGW Depot at Mt. Pleasant, UT This is the excellent work of provident Mt. Pleasant residents. Here we can see the documents of preservation works. All photos taken on Sep. 15, 2014 Hiroshi BOXCAR RED COLLECTION
As the article says, vacant for twenty years. Just shows how much a determined community can accomplish.
DRGW Crossbuck at Green River, UT How about this as the survivor? I believe this is the genuine DRGW crossbuck. Contrary to the DRGW original, UP updated crossbuck has slats on each side of the wood post, as you can see below. UP updated crossbuck found at Thompson, UT. Hiroshi, thanks for sharing! That likely is a genuine D&RGW crossbuck. The patina and weathering on it definitely looks the part, at least. I don't think I would place it in the SP era, much less the UP era.
DRGW Roadway Sign at Soldier Summit, UT Thanks for looking. I didn't think of SP update; it could have happened. Here is another DRGW genuine wayside accessories; DRGW Roadway Sign at Soldier Summit, UT. It was standing at the end of wye. photo taken on Sep. 10, 2014 Hiroshi BOXCAR RED COLLECTION
DRGW Viaduct at Green River, UT Here is another, maybe everybody here know. But taking closer look brings us several capital letters which was long covered by the flying Rio grande logo plate. It seems "RANDE", but I don't know whether it was "RIO GRANDE" or "DENVER & RIO GRANDE WESTERN" or somewhat different. All photos taken on Sep. 11, 2014 Hiroshi BOXCAR RED COLLECTION
Simply 'Grande! Love the no trespassing sign, those are exceedinlgy rare nowadays. The bridge looks like it's seen its own share of action recently, too. Surprising that t doesn't have a height restriction sign--Ouch!
