Yes it is. A couple years ago a derailment somewhere caused a M/T wood caboose to derail, and it was in a bad spot to do so It wrecked the roof ends and little pieces went everywhere... I should have took pictures, it looked almost realistic.. This was really my first attempt to do this much work to a car in a couple years. It was fun to do.and a nice reprieve from just sitting on my arse waiting to go back to work..

Trying to whip out a quick weathering job. Fortune for me, the SFRB kept their express boxcars pretty clean

Maybe she'll enter her car in the contest?

Her mom and I have talked about it, and we feel that she is a little too immature to have an account...at this point...I don't have an entry, unless anyone objects, I can enter by proxy

I don't see a problem. It's open and up front.

I'm glad the date was extended! Here is my entry...a Fine N Scale UP express boxcar that has been converted to MOW service. It follows the prototype number 907149.

Here are a few pics under construction:

The underframe that came with the kit broke while I was trying to straighten it. Several years ago, I had filed the bolsters on a Micro-trains underframe and made a mold so I could fit other cars with the casting. When I poured the first one, it shrunk and was too small to fit so I gave up on the idea. I did keep the one and only casting and as it turned out, it fit this car because of the thickness of the walls. Score!

Here is an end shot showing the styrene and putty used to fill in the ends around the body mounted Micro-trains couplers. Also shown are the MT roller bearing trucks that I'm using.

This shot shows it ready to paint. I also installed a Plano metal roofwalk and BLMA hoses.

The car is painted and decaled. It just needs a bit more weathering. I'll finish it up tonight and post a pic then.

Those BLMA air hoses sure make a difference. It's the net detail manufacturers need to be adding.
