Please excuse me for my sheer ignorance but I have not posted any pics since the new site launch... Now I cant seem to post any pics in a post... I was able to upload "embedded images" (whatever that is) but that is as far as it goes... They seem useless as I can not attach them to a post. The image button is only good for URL's so its 100% useless for me. What am I missing here? Thanks, -Jon
If you are simply trying to upload an image from your computer: In the Reply box, look below it and at right side. Find the "Upload a File" button.
Thank you for the quick reply. I appreciate that. Silly me, I was pressing the camera button and the picture button thinking I could post pics that way... Thanks, -Jon
Jon, If you upload the photos to the RailImages section - then the camera icon lets you choose one of your uploads; or if you have them elsewhere on the web (e.g. PhotoBucket), then the picture icon is appropriate, where you then input the URL. To directly upload to the post, as Ken says, use the Upload a File button.
I'm going to need a re-explanation. I have no camera icon showing on either Chrome or IE, and the old way of copying the IMG link from the album doesn't work anymore.
If you're simply replying from the available spot at the end of the thread, there is a bar of buttons immediately above the text box (starts with bold and italics). Towards the end is a camera icon; clicking on this will bring up the command prompt to add a picture within the reply, either from a file on your computer or from a URL.
That's very interesting. I use IE at home and Chrome here at work, both places I get the toolbar as I described. But obviously you don't...Curioser and curioser
on the lower right hand side of the reply screen, the middle button [for me anyways] is labelled "Upload a file"..
No, linking from RailImages doesn't work for me. I can see the images on two computers and an android tablet (pictures are already downloaded on those) but not on my smartphone. Alan, dalebaker and a few others have said they can't see the pictures, either.
I know that, but the problem I am having is not being able to view images I put in posts that are already uploaded in RailImages.
