I just read on Rapidos FB page that Mike McGrattan ( Puddington ) has passed away. Rest in Peace Mike...you will be missed by many.
Sad news indeed. Reading about his "Lil' Puddy" boxcar is one of my first memories of getting involved in the model railroad community, and inspired me to participate in several other traveling car activities. He was certainly one of the good ones.
"Lil' Puddy" sure was a great thread to follow. That car went places some of us can only dream of. That car sure came back like it had been rode hard and put up wet...LOL.
I knew he had health issues of an unknown (to me) nature. I sensed he was approaching a critical time. Still it saddens me to learn of his passing. Requiescat in pace, Mike.
I believe it was yesterday Saturday the 21st Charlie. At least that was the day Rapido posted it on their FB page
We have lost another fine modeler and one who has made some contributions to the hobby of model railroading Sadly the list continues to grow of those we lost who made some positive progress in this hobby of ours.
I just found out he was only 52, and with a 12 year old son. I wish only to put a face with our dear departed friend. This is so unfair.....
So much sad news of great Train people. Mike you will be missed, great posts on both here and the old Atlas forum. We will certainly miss you.
Very sad indeed. As a passenger train fan, I always had great appreciation for his modeling skills. He will be greatly missed.
Yes, very sad news. I did not know his real name, but read his posts on n-scale and then finally learned he worked at Rapido. May he rest in eternal peace.
