On my Weaver Junction switching layout, I'm using Caboose throws to activate the switches. Right now they're glued directly to the foam, but I've had several come loose during operations. I've tried white glue and caulk to fasten them down, and surprisingly to me, the white glue has held up better. Still, the white glue will occasionally let go.

My next step is to add track nails to help hold them in place, but was wondering if anyone had success with a particular type of adhesive for these.

    Any and all advice appreciated.

You may want to try matt medium. I use it with great success as an adhesive. (It takes a little while to dry/cure) - but it is well worth it.

As a note - I close friend of mine uses it to attach all kinds of stuff to his layout.( His layout is also foam).

    Worth a try,

I saw a video a few days ago where the guy was roughing up the foam a bit before gluing stuff down. Might give more bite.

I guess I'm going to have to find a video on how to make these work on a N Scale layout, because I've never been able to get them to work. Any advice would greatly be appreciated.
    Thanks

Walthers Goo is a solvent type glue. DO NOT use it on foam. It will attack and dissolve the foam and leave you with a GOOEY mess.
Might try Latex "Liquid Nails" instead of GOO

I agree. Liquid Nails has a product for "Projects and Foam Board".
