ATSF 3071

This Kato car is lettered as a one of a kind chair car on the Santa Fe. The prototype was built by St. Louis Car Co. in 1936 as one of the first light weight cars for evaluation on the ATSF. The Santa Fe decided to order cars from Budd instead. In 1947 it was painted from the Scout Two Tone Gray paint scheme to silver with shadow lines until 1950 when it was returned to TTG again.
