      Thanks Darren!

This photo angle is interesting. Makes the engine look BIG. Has me mentally picturing stuff such as their gas turbines and Centennials. Sounds like a good idea for tonight- Dig out the old Video Rails VHS...

Hi BoxcabE50! I'd say it's a combination of the photo angle and the fact that I shoot Cajon and Tehachapi mostly at 28MM. Notice the telephone pole. Thanks for the comments.

I never did much photography, at less than 50mm. Could not quite master the subtle effects. They just didn't look right. So, you're miles ahead of me!

Most of my earliest photography was done at 50MM, but in the mountain passes I was losing out on so much background that I just had to go wide angle. To be honest, I'm still working on mastering the subtle effects!

If only there was more inspiration, where I presently live. I'd give it a go again. My camera needs some shop time. Probably a good cleaning. And getting my favorite slide film, K64, became a chore. So, we ended up with a digital camera. Only 4MP. But I'm often quite surprised by the results.

You know Boxcab, you hit it on the head. My inspiration hasn't been strong enough of late to get me out to my two favorite passes; Cajon and Tehachapi. Other than the occasional steam excursion, I haven't had the urge to shoot since the red/silver warbonnets were replaced by BNSF Heritage. Of course, 911 didn't help matters either. I think what may get me trackside again soon is the building of the new mainline through Cajon. The old landscape is changing rapidly and will soon have new photo opportunities to capture.

Wish there were something changed or new to explore around here. The only thing interesting this year, were a couple of excursion passenger cars. Otherwise, same old, same old. I actually looked around some, about two weeks ago. Not a thing moving. M-O-W window I suppose. Too bad, as Fall colors were great. Sun was bright. Oh well. Have you started working on that time machine?

The time machine is complete. I just can't decide where I want to go first, so I haven't gone anywhere yet. Got some more suggestions Boxcab?

Oh boy! This is a tough one! So many places possible. Which to choose? And, worst yet, what time frame? Perhaps we also need to perfect immortality as well? In order to have enough time for visiting everything... Argh!
