Thom, it's great to catch up with you too on TrainBoard. I look forward to seeing your classic images. I'm sure you'll recognize a few of mine.

Herb, I selected this photo as one of the Railfan photos of the week. Look for that thread on the board. I, too, welcome you to Trainboard. Have seen much of your talent elsewhere on the railroad internet. Great photos!

Thank you for the welcome Jim and the kind words! I appreciate that and having you include one of my favorite images in your Railfan Photos of the Week. I look forward to a long stay on TrainBoard.

Fantastic shot Herb, classic spring time in the CA foothills. With those clouds, was that in March?

      Hi Greg,

Thanks for your comments on this board too. TrainBoard is great!

This shot in Tehachapi Pass was taken about the second week of April '95. There had been quite a storm passing through the area that left the sky filled with these amazing clouds. Got lucky to get the sunlight to be where I wanted it.

      Hi Herb,

You certainly did get lucky with those clouds and sunlight. I remember taking pictures like that in Stockton in March usually. The TL was good most of the year but early spring like your picture was the best time IMHO.

      Cheers,
      Greg

      Hi Greg,

Tehachapi always offers you something interesting from the weather department. If it were closer to me, I'd sure be out there more often. Cajon, as you may know, is in the middle of a BNSF mainline expansion with men and equipment everywhere. Guess I'll wait until spring to start shooting again out there. Tehachapi too if I can.

      As always, many thanks!

      Rgds...
