Point of Rocks tunnel during the flood of Nov 1985

In 1985 record flooding happened along the Potomac River and this is a shot from the Route 15 which crosses the Potomac into Virginia. As you can see the river covered both tracks and the railroad was closed for days. Almost the entire town of Point of Rocks was underwater. This is the event where the Chessie system parked loaded coal cars on the Harpers Ferry bridge to prevent it from being carried away.

I remember reading about those hoppers on their bridge. Seems like there were some photos in Railfan or Trains? Quite an interesting photo!

And the sad thing about it is that I have at least two 35mm slides of that bridge with the loaded coal cars and can't find the slides. A National Guardsman let me walk up the old mainline, which was used as a siding track then, to take photos.
