Powered Boxcar

MOW wagons for catenary installation and maintenance. This last wagon of a foursome of stripped down and modified ex cattle wagons sports a pantograph.

Do they actually collect power for some purpose, via that pantograph? Or is it simply for checking catenary geometry?

My best guess is probably for both checking catenary geometry and as a continuity tester for new installations. Also note the roller at the roof end. The wagon at the far end has a roller at its front end, apparently in order to string overhead cables from cable spools riding on an open wagon at the other end.
