HP Printer for parts

for my Halland Yard transfer table. The printer cost $2.00. I'd like to use the print head shaft and motor. The print head is driven by a belt and slides along a shaft. Th motor is a stepper motor. I bought a motor controller on ebay this weekend to test it out.
