      This looks great!

What types of industries are you planning on using? and how have you secured the unitrack to the base?

Thanks! I am planning on having a passenger station on the passing siding you see at the front. Behind the mountain on the right will be a mine and in the valley between the bridges will be an Iron and Steel Works. I plan on running three trains (my two boys and I). One passenger service stopping at the station and mine, one loco switching between the mine and Iron Works and a general freight bringing in fuel for the switcher, raw material and finished product to and from the Iron Works, etc.

I have not attached the Unitrack to the roadbed yet. Each piece is wired and goes through to the underside and holds it in position pretty well for the time being. I will hot glue it when I am ready to ballast the roadbed.

Looks great! What's the ruling grade?

      Fantastic rockwork!

      Thanks guys.

The ruling grade is 4% using Woodland Scenics risers. When I was planning the layout I decided to restrict operations to 4 axle locos, cars to 40 ft generally and short trains to give me the freedom to design with steeper grades and tighter radii than I would otherwise use. I have no problems running these types of trains on it.

On this layout I wanted to experiment using different types of rock work. On the face of the mountain I used Woodland Scenics molds and blended about four of them together. On the cut on the back right corner I used water putty and hand carved and on the back side of the mountain I used premixed lightweight spackle hand carved with smaller WS rock molds stuck in it randomly. You can see an example of that in one of the other pictures in my album.

is there someway you can post the actual trackplan showing the exact pieces used? i think this may be the most perfect 2x4 i've seen. looks great! can't wait to see it finished!

      Thank you.

Mike, I no longer have the original plan as it was lost with a crashed drive but I tried to recreate best I could what I have and posted it. Hope that helps.
