N scale NREX SD40-2 #9402

This is a N scale model of the NREX #9402. In real life this was originally a SSW SD45T-2 converted to a SD40-2, complete with a new much shorter SD40-2 long hood. This created the extended rear porch which is huge even by SD40-2 standards. The model began life as a Intermountain SD45T-2. The frame was shortened to accept the SD40-2 hood. The rear truck gear tower was removed to fit under the porch. While this is still a powered engine, only the front truck operates. It does still help pull a long train. All details are correct for this engine, and the weathering shows a day in the real life of the engine as I added it after finding a photo where the engine looked almost exactly like this.
