Pekin Spiral Helix

Subroadbed is 1/2" homasote only, instead of homasote plus 1/2" OSB (wafer board). Loop is only 1 inch wide instead of 1.5 inches wide as on the other helixes. 16 supports were used to maintain stability instead of just 8 that were sufficient on the Bartonville, Kellar, and Peoria helixes which used both the homasote and OSB for the subroadbed.

Given the stair step braces, how tight is the widest and narrowest radius of these curves.

Dave, now you have me thinking about a helix again. I didn't want to do the standard stacked helix with the threaded rods, etc., because it just seemed like a lot of fiddling. I like this one here.

Decreasing radius turns; the bane of motorcyclists everywhere!
