Southern Pacific Bayshore Roundhouse... Today

This is a birdseye view of the SP Bayshore Roundhouse. It was built around 1911 and was part of the Bayshore Rail Yard and Back Shops. The back shops were all torn down, the yard was closed in 1982, and this is all that remains of the roundhouse today. The part of the roundhouse in the foreground was burned in a fire in 2001. There's still hope that it may be turned into a rail museum. Photo: October 12, 2007
