This is like 'traumatically fantastic' ! ! (I just coined that)...The level of today's locomotive reviving (especially steam) seems to be at an all time height ! Never would I have thought years and years ago we'd ever again get to see so many of them back on rails and running in A-1 condition, ready to pull, and now pulling, whole trains again..! ! The number of private loco-ownership clubs too has gone way up. I once met an Amtrak Exec. about 9 yrs ago. I made a suggestion to him that Amtrak ought to consider a scheduled once a month, steam-powered passenger train to recreate interest in trains again and, too, would attract a great many more children back to trains with the glamor of an FEF (4-8-4), it's rods spinning/clanking, stack, steam releases (blowdown), whistle and gargantuan exhaust and chuffs. If it hasn't yet happened I hope and sense it still will; all of course equalling higher ridership for Amtrak; and higher esteem for 'a steam' ! .. Mark
