Folks With the plastic axles failing on some original run units, and the replacement drivers not fitting exactly right, in same units, do I buy a backup now, or just a driver set? How are you preparing? Thanks Marty Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have had no issues with my GS4, but after repairing someone else's, I ordered a spare set of drivers to have, just in case. When/if I ever need to switch them out, I will also then need to add the spacers to the #s 1,2 and 4 axles
NorsemanJack. I havent. However, it's the cracking plastic drivers. I'm pretty sure it's when, not if, ala any bad plastic drivers. Since the replacements aren't drop in, I'm concerned. It's not like most trains, where you can drop in another similar loco, when the plastic goes. Since I just put a decoder init, and its first in line for sound, and I'm using it to pull all 18 cars, a few times a week, I'm concerned. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have the second run and have no issues. If I had the first run I would order a set and to be ready.
I believe, from reading, release 1 has plastic drivers, that are cracking. Release 2 has some issues, with bearing blocks slipping, but there are shims you can make. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
