I'm certainly in on the D&RGW units and I would be fine with the SP/T&NO units too.

Rio Grande had 10 of the SW1200 units numbered 130 thru 139.

Southern Pacific had 23 SW1200 units with 'as delivered' numbers 1597 thru 1623. BUT don't know which paint scheme were the 'as delivered' versions. They were renumbered in 1965 and were in the Grey/Scarlet nose scheme.

Santa Fe only had 3 of the SW1200... road numbers 2439,2440 & 2441... might get those as well.

Put $50 down on a set of the DRGW units.
Now, hoping I can get the Solar Eclipse boxcar from Micro Trains!
Put an order in for it today. Hoping to know more, maybe tomorrow.

Well, I thought I was at a point I didn't need any more locomotives, but I'll have to snag the two RDG's.

Did you get one - and have you seen some of the prices that they're being bid up to on eBay?

Never got the one I ordered. The store in Vancouver, BC
NEVER confirmed my order, and NEVER acknowledged my order!

Not too happy about it either!

Ebay prices I've seen for a couple have been obscene!
At over $100. Last one I saw went for $110.50.

One car got sniped two days ago with a bid of $132.50 in the final seconds.
Two more, ending today, are presently up to $127.50 and $138.

Earlier in the week, two cars went for "buy it now" prices of $27.95.
That seller must be kicking himself.

I'll keep looking for a bit. Seriously doubt I'm gonna find one cheap!

NOWHERE in the Walthers paperwork does it say there would be only one run. It says only one run of these road numbers.
As to the SP it is always possible the units traveled following a major overhaul. For myself: 1) the SP are painted in a scheme earlier than I like, and,
    2) the ATSF are in a scheme I never saw in person. However I learned a long time ago that we should not be too picky.
I once met a customer who was modeling September 23, 1949 @ 1:15pm. When asked he said it was date and time he got his first cab ride in a specific loco. He died w/o ever locating a model of that loco.

He was waiting to find the loco before starting a layout.

I have half a dozen LL SW's and love them. I got mine when they went for around $20.00 and will run them til i die.

Just hope these units have a better headlight setup than the LL units did!
I've got a several, one needs a new truck, and ALL of them need headlight housing!
Contact with Walthers once, said $10 each for the trucks. And basically, wishful
    thinking on the headlight assemblies!

The under-the-walkway contacts were always the weak points of these things. It will remain one of the minor mysteries of my involvement in N scale why LL/WKW never fixed that. They popped off too easily and they got ruined too easily. Some have fashioned Atlas type long contact strips and Dremelled a slot in the chassis to accommodate said new strips. This is proof that even N scale diseasels require customer supplied QC.

Another problem with these is that they like to pick Code 80 Atlas and Kato #4 and #6 turnouts as well as PECo sharp and medium turnouts. For some reason, they do not pick the broad PECo turnouts. I have no experience with Code 55, so I do not know how they do on those turnouts. What is funny is that none of mine pick any B-mann E-ZTRAK turnouts. One way I have managed to keep switch picking to a minimum is to run these things in pairs. I am guessing that they guide each other and keep the trucks in alignment to avoid frog or point picking.

I just figured I'd post here since it was about the SW1200, people interested in those models might have one sitting around(y)

A quick check shows locomotives as In Transit.
Figures! Mine are gonna show up between cataract surgery dates!
Not sure if I want to go down to Denver somehow, and pick mine up, or
make a call, and have them shipped to me instead. Maybe get the necessary DCC boards as well.
Nice thing is, I’ll FINALLY have my much needed disability benefits by then!

Richard Percy's great Espee website lists these units as coming in the gray and scarlet scheme but this should be obvious since their delivery was 1964.

The T&NO units on the other hand came in black, silver and orange, some being built in 1954 and a second order in 1957. Oddly enough most stayed in this paint scheme until the units were rebuilt by Espee, except for T&NO 114 which received the "Halloween" black and orange, which it wore until rebuilding.

Lets hope Walthers sells the heck out of these units... maybe it will just have the effect of waking them not so sorry (gotta give them at least a little credit what with this release) souls up that there is a market for their N-scale stuff.
