That is certainly a nice looking truck! Not a bad idea to model the Niagara region on a slightly in a slightly more fictional way though.
Out of the box and apparently was originally maybe a Model Power Sullivan house! Really, really, really, cheap! I am happy! Even have the RED shutters in a plastic bag to finish them, obviously this belonged to a previous customer, duh! Looks great on the C&L.
Nice model and a Model Power one at that. I've never been a fan of Model Power but this one does look nice.
Picked up this American Model Builders Laser Cut kit this afternoon, the Santa Fe #3 Standard One Story Depot: This will be my first attempt at an N Scale Kit and a Laser Cut Kit at that.
Latest purchase was still tools... oh, and a book. "American Narrow gauge Railroads", by: George Hilton. Leafed through it and quite impressed. There were a LOT of locos built in PA and not just Baldwin. It's cool. The tools are a 5C collet closer for my lathe and some 5C tumbling blocks for use in the mill. Lots of uses but especially for putting the various details in the wheel faces, machining the small parts for the primary drive reduction, and machining body and detail parts including masters for the cast stuff. Want another toolmaker's vise, a 1" for when my two inchers are just too big , but we'll see. Also got some supplies for making circuit board masks. That'll be coming up soon as well as some part casting. That will include light pipes, resin details, and probably some metal parts. Still debating about just machining some of those parts, not casting them, but we'll see how it goes. Prototyping is fun and HUGELY time consuming. We're getting there!
They are impressive. Went to the Trainworx and, this I can't believe, every single thing they make is "sold out"??? Are they still in business? If so, where did you guys get your trucks from? I also didn't see any of the trucks you guys bought on the site either.
Just ordered the following DPM Kits: These should keep me a little busy of an evening until I get the layout underway some time next week.
These were a special run through Prairie Shadows in Canada. They had a few truck and trailer options, look them up.
Just bought the remaining DPM Kits as follows: Bruce's Bakery Char's Soda Shoppe Cricket's Saloon Reed's Books Night Life Kit As well as 3 bottles of MB52 Micro Bond Thin Adhesive. These should give me a pretty good start on the town area.
Got these two beauties in the mail Saturday. Atlas Western Pacific GP35 #3010 and Atlas GP40-2 #3548, because one can never have enough WP units! lol
