Did some train running in the yard which pointed out a couple of other small issues. Fixed those and started playing. The big units do fine on the code 40, which surprised me, since the 2-8-8-2 is an older LL Proto. Yes, there will be video soon! PIC_0174.JPG PIC_0175.JPG

The K4 was pulling the passenger train? I think I saw what you mean about hitting the spike heads, kinda gave it a bit of a wobble.

Yup, the K4s was pulling the passengers, naturally! However, the passenger siding is 55, but there is still some fine tuning of the switshes there that made her wobble. Now, when I used it to test all the yard tracks, two of which are 40, thumpa-thumpa!

Biggest progress for the weekend, I got the bridge deck built! Lots of soldering to do, and now it is in paint. We will see how this idea works out, it is purty solid for a 54 inch piece of flex track! PIC_0209.JPG PIC_0203.JPG PIC_0202.JPG PIC_0208.JPG PIC_0201.JPG

And here I am looking for input. The cardstock is my depot footprint. The spur can either stub at the depot, or behind it. It will be multi-purpose for either a business car or the unloading of express freight. Probably will have a ramp/dock next to it also. PIC_0198.JPG PIC_0199.JPG

I would go for behind it. Seems it would allow more operating options.

I like the one that goes behind. But then again. It's your railroad.

Thanks! That was a quick one!

BTW, my buddy says howdy. He was a 90 day wonder / door gunner in 63-64.

Your friend was early! I didn't get there until 1965. Went in the service in '63, spent 13 months in Korea as a tank gunner, '64-'65, Ft. Hood TX for 9 months in '65, then to VN in Dec. '65. Tell him howdy back (and welcome home!).

You can put a turnout in the spur and have one track go into the building and one track behind it. :D

Got the top of the deck painted today, and the rails cleaned off. Whew! That Krylon sure packs a punch!

Also ran a train up the incline to the new track after some heavy cleaning, via Rattlesnake Canyon here,

Of course, it had to back down the hill after that!

And, yes, that Soo boxcar has been a bit twitchy in backing up. Off to the inspection pit with it!

Got the track for the deck all painted up,
    PIC_0261.JPG
And used these bits of bar stock to GOO the segments into a straight line. PIC_0260.JPG
