Good morning from cloudy and cold Northeast Ohio, lake effect snow starting tonight and going through tomorrow. I managed to finish a couple of cars this week! First up is an Intermountain 1937 AAR Mod Boxcar Kit, with added Yarmouth Models Metal Sill Steps, then painted with Floquil Jade Green and Scalecoat II Black Paints and lettered with Oddballs decals. The KO&G purchased 3 of these cars in 1952. The KO&G was a bridge line purchased by the MP to connect their Kansas line and Texas Line. The KO&G had a lot of hopper cars but very few boxcars on their roster, was fully absorbed into the MP in the 60's. Kadee PS 2003 CF Covered Hopper, painted with Scalecoat II Tuscan Red and lettered with Herald King Decals. Car was originally built in 1956 and repainted into this scheme in 1961. Mostly used in cement and sand service. Thanks for looking! Rick Jesionowski
Here is an old Athearn BB flat bottom gondola that I got from a very dear friend some years ago. One of very few eastern roads on the MRR it seems. This one came weathered a bit, I just did a little more and added the load and cut bars. I like to use soft metal for the weight that can be bent along with the car. maybe I do one of those one day. I still got a few old kits to build, that might be fun to do. get the old hair dryer out and go to work Thanks for looking.
Candy. Where do you get your grassy ground cover. It is great looking. I have a static grass applicator and would like to try to use this in a scene.
Candy - The NH boxcar brings back memories! First train set, Christmas, 196_?, Tyco with one of those, well sorta! Thanks for the great modeling and a great memory!
It's a grass mat. I use, NOCH. It's great looking stuff and with many to choose from. I used number 07403 ( Summer Meadow ). It can get pricey but I think it's worth it.
