When I originally set all of the framing to the concrete slab and thought in the back of my mind back in December last year that I should put some kind of carpet down...

    Ryobi hot-glue gun!

The gun itself is only $29, but I had to buy a battery and a charger which is an additional $59. Instead, I bought a two-tool "starter set," which includes a drill, a 5-1/2" circular saw, plus one 18V Li-ion battery and a smart-charger for $79. I already have a good Milwaukee drill, but it's like getting the Ryobi drill and saw for $10 each!

I went to the local art store, looking for some supplies, and I decided to upgrade my airbrush. They were on sale, so I picked up a dual action airbrush. It wasn't expensive which is good if I decide I like my single action Paasche better. I can't wait to put this baby to work! 012.JPG

Just bought an Atlas 4-4-0 N scale loco to go with the smaller, older steamers on my logging layout.

I like the cordless (mobility), but I think I would always drain my battery-I leave my DeWalt (cord) on too much getting sidetracked...

I seriously admire your photography LA Metro. If I'd have bought a glue gun, I'd post a simple grab shot of it, but your shot looks like it was taken from a Ryobi catalog. Perfect DOF, monochromatic background and eye-popping product color. Your photos of your N Scale models are equally notable. I don't mean to embarrass you, just to note fine artistic work. (y) I hope your glue gun has a long and productive life.

I'd venture to say photography is another hobby LA Metro enjoys.

Excellent! Now get the other two coaches, the light kit and the two decoders to complete the set!!!! It can run up your credit card. Don't ask me how I know! It is a BEAUTIFUL set!

BTW, the paint on these are very thin so be careful as they can be easily scratched off.

That's one really nice photo Rich; my wife likes it too. I hope to find some Kato Unitrack in packages under our tree, as I plan to use it on my permanent new N Scale road.

Thank you Hardcoaler. A little info on the Ornament in the photo, my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014, started 6 months of Chemo August 2014. Had her lumpectomy in February 2015 and finished her radiation in July 2015. She has now been cancer free for 2 years. The Christmas Ornament like the Operation North Pole train set is in support of all those still fighting these diseases. We pray that someday cancer will be a disease of the past.

Here is the train with the additional 2 coach set and light kit installed in all. I didn't have the decoder yet for the loco and it was a large N-Trak DCC layout at a show so I used a BNSF C44-9W to pull the consist. :D Excellent news about your wife Rich. Makes the hoidays even more special. Hopefully one day, one day, we can eliminate this evil disease!

And here are the coaches in the basement layout with the lights turned off. They look VERY bright here but in a train show where the lights are bright they look just right.

Needed to add to the container collection and these folks had a very impressive reduced price sale going on with free shipping selection.

Santa brought me some Kato Unitrack components so that I could measure the railhead-to-bottom-of-the-bridge dimension on both the Deck Girder Bridge and the Truss Bridge. This will help me as I work out my track plan. I also received a Kato rerailer. My eyes aren't as clear as they once were and this simple little accessory is terrific at getting everything on the rail first time every time. (y)

The occasional detail project...the logging road was sorely missing a little extra protection.

These Highway Guardrails are fun to build. The installation a bit tricky on non flat roadways.
(the fencing is for a future junkyard project)
