Hello guys. My name is Thierry. I am French, 55 years old, and software developper. As a lot of people, i started trains at 10 with HO models, but my space was limited and i switched quickly to N. After 30 years of ... nothing, i returned to railroads 5 years ago. I started some T-Trak modules and discover Arduino at the same time. Modules are still there only with rails... But the Arduino part have constantly grown ! Now i am part of the best french site about Arduino for trains : Locoduino.
Welcome aboard, Thierry! I have traveled across Europe, but I don't really speak more than a few words of French. I assume that site you linked is all about DCC. Space tends to be an issue in many European homes. They largely just weren't built to be spacious. There's a lot of N and Z scale modelers in Europe for this reason. ☺
Thanks all for your messages. No, Locoduino is for all kind of models/modellers, analog or DCC, LGB to Z, American or European ! But you are true, the space dedicated to hobbies in our houses is often small, and N/Z scales are well adapted for that. And when i see the gigantic size of your layouts, i feel so small...
Hi Thierry, Welcome. Please do not feel small. We all, you included have large layouts. It is merely that most are in our imaginations. Mine extends throughout northern New Hampshire, all within about 2 x 4 meters.
