I've always heard use matte medium to reinforce natural tree armatures, but in my search for the cheapest I could find, I came across "pouring medium" by Liquitex. I guess it thins paint, which in my mind means it should be taken up by the plant cells that much easier. Anyone have thoughts or experience with this stuff or my reasoning? You find a lot of ideas in model railroading that have come to be standard practice. But often it's because someone did something and didn't bother to try something different. I'd say go for it and report back. And, you may have found a better way to do it.

I like this forum because every so often someone posts doing something totally new because they didn't know any different, and it worked.
And if it doesn’t, and you are looking for a more cost effective Matte Medium, look for Modge Podge and your local craft store. I get mine at Michaels (they always have coupons on their web page I can pull up on my phone), I think I paid less than 5 bucks for my last bottle and I can make about 350 trees with that.
