Russ is still off on his South Pacific excursion, last known position on Bora Bora, seated comfortably at the bar at Bloody Mary's. So here is this week's Photo Fun thread.

Thought I would start it off with this shot, from last October, of my San Felipe desert module

Got a couple of cars done this week!

This is a Tangent G31 Gondola, painted with Scalecoat II PRR Freight Car Color and lettered with Herald King Decals. Car was originally built in 1951 by ACF and produced in the thousands, this is a 1967 rebuild now in Class G31k.

This is an Exactrail Evans 4780CF Covered Hopper kit, painted with Scalecoat II BN Cascade Green paint and lettered with Oddballs decals. Car was built in 1979 by Evans and leased to the Garvey Grain Corp. One of a number of Midwest lettered covered hoppers I have in the fleet, I did make one mistake in lettering the car that I noticed after I took the picture, I will correct and repost later this weekend.

    Thanks for looking!

Some of my TYCO and Bachmann 4-6-0s. A look at the frontends, and the overhead shot.
The TYCO's are deffinately 1880s, and at least one of the Bachmann's are, but the undec (the one in the center) I think is mid 1910s.

Nothing new from me so I thought I would show an old one. One thing you may notice about my modeling: It's always Summer:)

I would love to see what you might create in a Fall scene. The tree, their colors, leaves on the ground and...?

Yeah, I was just thinking that while it's a good shot as it is, it would be a really nice colorful fall scene.

Thanks - the module is ghost town and desert. Here's a view I did of it, with a Photoshop added background of a photo I took in Death Valley

Here's one I put up on Railimages last week. A Mikado pulls the daily turn into Clarksville on the Rochester and Richmond. Locomotive is an Athearn Mike.

P.S. - The city building department is investigating that 4-story building that's developed a suspicious lean out toward the street!

Candy, you do a great job with scenery, but there is one thing that bugs me in your scene, the wheels on the boxcar have not been weathered, I always paint the shiny wheels with a mixture of black/red paint. By the way I have a lot of cars that need to have than done also.

You are right, Rick. That siding needed a car for the camera so I picked one that wasn't weathered at all. Well I need a project so it might as well be wheels. I've got to start something or I'll start reading a romance novel.

    Candy,
That's a Proto-2000 Single Door 50 foot boxcar assembled from a kit. It's from back before Walthers bought out Life-Like. Here's a kit that's showed up on Ebay https://www.ebay.com/p/HO-Proto-2000-21785-50-Single-Door-Boxcar-Kit-GTW-RR-595225/1917954120
These are probably still around at train shows. They may have been offered assembled also at some point.

I really need to get busy building more scenery....

I think Candy was asking about the automobile! :)

That Case tractor is just gorgeous! Now if only someone had those in N.
