    John,

At the moment I am in two minds. I have a set of Pullman Heavy Wight Passenger cars (Pullman Green strangely enough) that I was going to repaint VIA Rail Blue for my own Road Name, now I am not so sure that is such a good idea. What I will probably end up doing is painting them in good old fashioned Pullman Green as the main color with perhaps a white stripe. Other than that I am really uncertain but am open to ideas and thoughts.

I just bought some repair parts from Kato, horns, snowplows, coupler pocket clips and those little grey clips that secure the light board in the Kato E8 and maybe some other locomotives. On another note I also placed two LifeLike E 7A bodies over Kato E 8 chassis. They went on easily and were a good fit. I still have an unpowered LifeLike E 7B unit that I am thinking of putting in a sound decoder. Lots of room inside that shell for a decoder an maybe two speakers. Dummy B units might be something the manufacturers may want to revisit. Could be a cheap and easy way to get sound into diesels, especially cowl units without sacrificing weight in the powered units.

In the N scale heritage department, I won an auction for a very large collection of Lone Star Treble-O-Lectric equipment (I started with these trains in 1962), including the expanded styrene bead layout made by Life-Like and sold by Montgomery Ward (the one in my avatar - there's a larger picture available on my site). I had one of these back then but I gave it away to a guy who's son wanted to get started in model railroading, in about 1971. I have been looking for one for many years.

Many locos, passenger cars, track, etc. too. Needless to say, I am thrilled.

Spent more at TCA show today, tnan I was expecting!

Fuel pots, from a friend. Hand made by Burnham metal shop folks.

Fuel pots, used INSIDE a caboose, for reading light. Or other interior lighting. Wick and chimney might be found.
Was told to check Denver area antique shops. So, I MIGHT be able to restore them to "almost" original.

Found a 2 volume book set, on the Uintah Railway.

Bought these, and got Denver's Street Railways, FREE. Seller fave it to me! Said there's NO way he'd be able to sell it in Michigan.
Well, I already have the 3 volume set! If anyone is interested in it, contact me.

My wife “bought” this for my birthday (well, at least she wrapped it)

And, stocking up. The 6 decoders on the right aren’t new, but this should keep me busy for a little while. Not all are sound

I was just looking at your JACALAR thread and your last post was last year's birthday present. Haha. Hey Rick, will you be at the San Jose Train show next weekend. If yeah, I will look for you and introduce myself. Happy Birthday! My wife just tells me to buy something now, she used to try and buy stuff but it would always be the wrong scale and just train related and not something I really want but I appreciated that thought and effort.
