Those Rivarossi Euro steamers are really nice. I think my KPEV "P-10" I showed here last year is a great runner. Actually, I think for the most part (almost all) the Rivarossi steam locos are fine engines; they look good, are easy to work on and parts (for the US outline models anyway) are still readily found on ebay and other places...The Euro outline models usually command pretty high prices, so it appears you did very well. Seems like an awful lot of drivers for a tank engine, doesn't it?... Mark in Oregon
Strummer, Whaddya think -- should it be hauling two coal cars and switching an industry? Or... I could use that lil switcher to haul some old passenger cars.
Picked this up from a guy a couple of towns over...it's a Bachmann U36B, FOOBIE scheme loco. I need to get some handrails for it, but just put some KaDee couplers on it today. Got it for $5.00, plus a caboose and a couple of other cars...It will never be a showcase model, but it's fun..
There was a train show last weekend in Lehi, Utah. That's where I picked up this Athearn F7 Diet Coke A and B set. I probably paid too much for it, but now I have a White F7 with the Coke red Ribbon, a Red F7 with the Coke bottle, and now the Diet Coke. I wish Pepsi would have Athearn do Pepsi and Mountain Dew locos...
Paul, sometimes you have to bite the bullet when you see that one train item that makes you happy. Enjoy your loco man.
Finally completed my set of GMGN/HESR U-boats. I bought the 8903 several years ago shortly after production. At the time, I could only afford to buy one unit. Recently scored the 8905 still in the box from a guy on Ebay. These engines showed up in Marlette fairly often, and often ran as a pair. They operated in Central Michigan livery for most of their life on Huron and Eastern, not being patched out until around the end of their service life. They were scrapped by Genesee and Wyoming. I have to say that Atlas has been pretty good to eastern Michigan shortline modelers.
I've been on a bender lately. Working a lot and no time for layouts. I am rewarding myself with small gifts. I get really stoopid over small switchers of any kind and I've always wanted a KOF german switcher. I have this habit of trying to crack open any new engine to see what's under the hood. Managed to break something on it while doing so. I do that a lot as well. But I did find a manual online for it. https://www.brawa.de/fileadmin/Prod...angierloks/0596_0597_Rangierlok_V_121_MWB.pdf Overall a nice little loco. Seems to be capable of taking a decoder if I want that. The real treat is the sprung buffers and the all metal body for added traction. It should be good addition to my industrial area on the future layout.
This is a Bachmann Branchline "Guild Hall": The photo doesn't do it justice; it is a beautiful thing, and came with a Hatton's DCC chip, which I removed, so now runs as well as anything else I own. This is actually "OO", but I figured "why not"... Mark in Oregon
I am a D&RGW modeler. I love the Rio Grande! But this little Southern consolidation has been needling me for several years. TrainWorld is selling them for just $89.95 with DCC on board. I have to admit it's a sweet little runner! So, now admits the D&RGW steam and diesels, there's a little bit of Southern Green...Oh, and I love the white tyres.
I purchased this nice preassembled building from Walthers. I am impressed with the detail on this trainline structure.
Modeling the area where I live in Montana, I have freight cars mostly from western and midwestern railroads and have a shortage of east coast railroads represented. Ran across thei Kadee car for $29 on fleabay. Now it needs a bit of weathering.
A rare occurrence for me! A friend of mine had this unit, long ago. The first of several HO pieces. Have 4 more en route!
According to paperwork, it’s a whopping 17 1/8 inch in length!! Unsure of the minimum curve radius for it! Club HO modules maybe.
Most recent, arrived today. NJ Custom brass Rio Grande Prospector. Front: Rear: Side view, both cars: Needs couplers, front and rear. Head/Tail lights. Needs "glass" bad! Maybe an interior..... And DCC/Sound(maybe!)If there's a sound set for it! Also all wheel electrical pick up, IF it can be done easily! Front truck only, of lead car is powered! Reminds me of the old PFM "SPUD" - Self Propelled Underfloor Drive. DCC conversion does not look too hard! Just can't see it well enough, yet! Only 3 more to arrive! Photos on arrival.
Just in! A Key PRR T-1 Duplex 4-4-4-4. Not exactly Rio Grande power, but an unusual locomotive! Have a 3 rail version also. Would like to get the BLI N Scale version as well. Shall see. Any one by chance, know a minimum radius for this locomotive? Or the Santa Fe 2-10-10-2?
The latest, arriving today! From the UK, of all places! Rio Grande M-75 4-8-2 Rio Grande L-105 4-6-6-4 Both are Key Imports models. From the UK, of all places!
