I need to get out and do some railfanning. It's been a busy fall. Whoever said you have more time once the kids are back in school clearly never had to deal with soccer and dance and Cub scouts... Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
Transformer being pulled up hill at CSX interchange track with the Kanawha River Railroad at Point Pleasant,WV, Curtis
Nothing new from me for a while, so here's a somewhat recent shot of the Garrison, ND Soo Line depot:
Swing bridge over the Connecticut River...still in use by the P&W Picture taken in August, by me, this year
Continuing last week's Conrail theme, from October 1980 is this poor quality Kodachrome scan taken at Bethlehem Union station (to the right). The train is leaving the former LV main and will soon cross the Lehigh River and onto former CNJ iron for entry into Allentown Yard. Remember open top auto carriers like these and earlier open side types? It was always fun to see the new models go by.
What is the yellow thingee in the foreground. The bridge appears to be open, so could it be an automatic derail?
An ex US Army Consolidation that was used for training Army steam crews well into the 1960s in case they were ever called upon to operate steam locomotives in some third world country. Now at the Tennessee Valley Railroad in Chattanooga.
Love it!!!! Classic Soo Line (M,St.P&SSM), colors and rural living quarters for their agent design. I am ever so happy to have (M,St.P&SSM)train orders copied in this very depot!
That's such a fine looking and perfectly-sized Consol. The TVRM is well blessed to have it, along with so much more.
