Hi guys, Any knowledgeable ppl out there who can tell me what combination the UP used. Was it: A+B+B+A A+B+B A+B+A any ideas??? Thanks,
I doubt anyone can say definitately that any of the above is absolutely incorrect. Depending on the length of the train involved, area covered and equipment available the consist would be put together. I have seen photos including 3 b's and 2 a's I don't think I've ever seen any with 2 a's in elephant style however.
In my Union Pacific dieselization- 1959 by Cinthia Priest it shows 959a in the A-B-A pulling passenger cars Sept 1,1947. E's in UP colors are some of my fav-o-rite engines!
Phill, I've got pictures showing all the above. ABB was the most poulpar in the books I've got. Rodney
I have seen photographs of two As elephlump style on the Q. Never have seen them that way on Uncle Pete or anyone else, though.
