Did they start getting all this railroad equipment out of there near the blimp hangars?

Not much going on in Hattiesburg this morning. Plus the rain was moving in so I didn’t stay long.

The SD9s were cut up in place some years back. In fact that work had started in 2010. I have some pictures of various parts of SD9s lying in the grass. The caboose is alive and well I THINK. Not sure if it's still captive. I thought that Oregon Coast got the GP9 painted as a cow, but I may be mistaken on that.

It's great to see the picture of Sierra RR #3, looking alive and well. I did a quick internet lookup after seeing the picture - the article said she went back in service in 2013(?) after a long downtime period that included making a new boiler.

Now all we need is for some TV studio or maybe Netflix to reboot "Petticoat Junction"....

While speaking of Sierra RR #3, this order was issued for their famous steam engine #3 to do work connected with
filming a movie named "The Shadow Riders." It starred such notables as Tom Selleck,
Sam Elliott, Ben Johnson, Geoffrey Lewis, Jeffrey Osterhage and Katharine Ross.

That 2-8-2 looks familiar. Tootle Valley RR in Utah had one like it. #11. It’s on dislocate at their local museum.
