Thanks, guys! I've been doing this coupler combo on most of my (non-sound) switchers for quite some time. I will often couple these non-sound switchers to a sound car (caboose) and I've found the Accumates are maybe less prone to unwanted magnetic uncoupling and less slinky action (although the sound car wheel pickups pretty much eliminate the latter anyway). I will also MU two switchers together back to back and I find the Accumates are perhaps less prone to slack action between the two locos.
It's been a while since we've posted - in our SP moment Showing off my new tigers S-12 DS-4-4-1000 (S-10) Thanks, Wolf
A quick project -- man, I really needed a success. Been a rough weekend, so far. A new acquisition: A C-40-1 As delivered: Stripes painted out and a little lite weathering: Thanks, Wolf
Who came up with the idea of gluing windows in? They are the visible evidence of the appearance of Satan.
OOwwOOiiiEEEK Satan lurks in the shadows, windows, mirrors, in the dark, closets, under the bed and in the un-seen. Is that scary or what? Who came up with gluing in windows? I did years ago. I couldn't stand the window treatment I saw. Downside, I'm not very good at it. My train car windows yell and scream I've been glued in place. Do I dare say the devil in me? Despite it all that SP caboose is looking mighty fine. How did you lighten the color? Those Tiger's caught my eye and I couldn't easily pass over them. Nice real nice.
Thanks Rick, I used Pan Pastel - Burnt sienna shade, some raw umber and some neutral grey extra dark. Wolf
Am I hearing in the form of powders? Paints would have to be really thinned down. Nomatter how it was accomplished. Well done!
Wow -- It's been a few months since we've added to this thread -- so..... Here is GS-6 4462 heading up the overnights Thanks, Wolf
WOW... Looks great... would never have guessed it was formerly a Kato Mikado. Sent from my SM-J737T using Tapatalk
Gosh darn you! Now I want one. I know these bad boys went by my hometown of Hollister, Ca. Just a few miles away. Tracking down the SP Coastal Main from San Francisco to Los Angeles via San Jose, Gilroy, Salinas but I never got to see them one on one. Those reefers, that I can replicate but how soon will I have my layout up and running? Everything takes time, is mundane and boring. It's all worth the effort when I'm rewarded by being able to run my trains. In the meantime. Someone take a video so I can see yours running. I need inspiration.
