It is fascinating for me to see the amount of interest in North American railroads, from folks "across the pond." There is a surprising level of this in N scale. Great to see it in outdoor efforts as well.

Thanks for that, BoxcabE50. In fact my Winchester friend also models period French railways, while I occasionally run my Australian trains. My Australian video is here:

and some of the French locos in Winchester can be seen here:

    Just another video.

I like the combo indoor /outdoor approach. The idea of having an extra 35 feet of mainline is pretty appealing. I actually plan for about 1 to 2 scale miles of outdoor running so that my trains can actually go somewhere when they leave my station. :)

Time to show a few more recent photos of my own railway. These are from September 2017 and show a Class 4MT loco with a freight train and a Jubilee class on a passenger working - both set in the 1950s.

I am sure there is a lot of stored up energy, from waiting out the winter weather. :)

    Not Forgotten

My great uncle Ralph Lloyd passed away in Ontario this week.

He seems to have had a long, full and happy life. This included a large HO layout in his basement. When he was 65 he started to lose his eyesight, so changed to G scale modelling, and he gave me a demonstration of the current layout in his basement in December 2017.

The staff of the Dorking Garden Railway honour his departure.
