Welcome back from the weekend fellow modelers. I hope you had a good one and that you got a lot accomplished.

Saturday: Our new ritual is to perform the grocery shopping on Saturday in Decatur, which has it's advantages. For one, my favorite hardware store is nearby as well as a large Harley dealership. This weekend, the HD dealership beckoned and I came out with an accessory catalog. Needless to say, I spent the rest of the afternoon side tracked with the catalog and motorcycle.

Sunday: Was supposed to be my day to work on the layout, however the lawn had other plans. After trying to charge, then jump start the old Deere, I had to go to town and buy a new battery, then come back, install it, add some oil and no sooner did I start mowing, it rained. I then started updating my build thread in the N scale forum when the sun finally came out. By 9:00 last night, I finally finished both projects. Not a very fulfilling weekend unfortunately.

So how about you? What did you get done? Hopefully the weekend was more profitable for you. Let us know, with pictures if you have them. We'll return on Friday the 23rd to start the process all over again. Until then, have a great week, be safe and as always...

    High Greens!

I was able to get plans drawn up for an airplane hangar which is big since I didn’t have all the necessary dimensions, some guess work came into play. I will need to build three of these for the module. I also was able to identify what the old WP Wendover station looked like. I have a book on order that has the plans for it as well included. That’s about it since I got home late from work I slept
All day Sunday pretty much. Today I hope to get the foam board cut and glued on the module frames.

And, I removed the incorrect numbers on my first F-3 set. Will be DF-1 6102A,B,C,D

    All are ABBA

    FT's
    SSW

    F-3's on hand.
    DF-1 -- High fan
    DF-1 -- Low fan
    DF-2 -- 36" DB fan

    F-7's on hand.
DF-3 Square doors, 36" DB fan
DF-4 Square doors, 36" DB fan (W/passenger controls)
DF-5 Square doors, 36" DB fan (Freight only)
DF-6 Round doors, 36" DB fan
DF-9 Round doors, 48" DB fan
    DF-12 FP-7 A' - with F7 B's

    Need to acquire:

    F-3
    DF-2 Centrifugal DB fan

    F-7
    DF-7 Round doors, 36" DB
DF-8 Round doors, 48" DB (AA set only) - SP did not purchase B units in this batch

Sunday: Continued this project. The DF-1 set is ready for new numbers and decoders.

Hope Y'all had a great weekend,
    Wolf

I started a "scratch" project for club layout a couple of weeks ago. I posted images in the "scratch build" thread. This past weekend I got quite a bit more done.

The 1st image is pre-weekend. The 2nd & 3rd images are after this weekend. I completed the pens and now am working on several gates, I'll be adding lights to the taller poles, and then some dirt and pooh. I like to build on foam core board, as you can see. Oh yes, must add a cattle truck and some tractors and hay piles.

Thanks for looking, and as always, have fun !
    Carl

it was actually the other week but managed to get half a dozen cars finished weathering. They all had upgrade work leading up to this. 2019-08-16 16.26.07-1.jpg 2019-08-16 16.27.34.jpg 2019-08-16 16.28.04.jpg 2019-08-16 16.28.34.jpg 2019-08-16 16.29.12.jpg

I'm hoping to resurrect the blog with a more detailed info of each build.

    More and more DCC.

I picked up an Arnold U28C a while back, and finally stuck a decoder in there. I'm pretty impressed with this thing. Affordable and runs well. It's got a 6 pin connector so, you just plug in the decoder. It also has separate headlight and numberboard lighting.

Did the same with an Atlas S2. But, found they use this goofy non-solder way of connecting to the board. Wires slide in with a plastic piece that's supposed to keep 'em in place. It didn't run when I put in on the tracks because one of those connections was bad. just dumb. So I soldered everything.

And last, but not least, more work on the GN X-181.

I like seeing the wheel coloration you've used. Not the bright and fresh rust orange too many folks use. It is a more natural grimy brown. (y)

    Thank you!

It's a dark rust to start and gets layers of grime weathering over the top to match the grime layers on the car to blend ithem together..

Yes I agree, I know what you mean about the fresh orange rust. I only tend to see that on new built cars of today and for all I know it right then, it still jars my eyes.
