Welcome back from the weekend everyone. I hope it was productive as I know we are all getting ready for the Trifecta of holiday madness, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Let’s see how we did. Saturday: Seeing as it was my last Saturday off, I knew I would not have many opportunities to work in the garage, so I took advantage of this and worked on all the items that needed finished with my table saw. I was able to cut and trim the remaining pieces of the B&M shadow box from the 1/8-inch fiber board as well as cut down a solid wood door that will be installed upstairs where the HO layout is going. It took all day but now I can progress on the layout when I get home at night from work. Sunday: We went up to visit with Angela’s Dad and grandma and enjoy a great home cooked meal and got caught up on the NASCAR race. So how about you? What did you accomplish? Let us know. We’ll assemble again on Friday, November 1st to start the process all over again. Until then, have a great week, stay safe and as always... High Greens!
Saturday: - after getting a few honey-do's done.... I disassembled the F3's and prepped the chassis for decoders. Man - what a mess!! LOL. Sunday: Started by painting the trucks and fuel tanks - then shot them with Dull Coat. While the paint was drying (On the above) - I installed the decoders. The B's went without a hitch -- decoders installed and programmed. The A's --- WTH-? The install's seemed to go well. (I have yet to mess with the lights) - I am using decoders I took out of a couple of Lifelike SD-7's that I have decommissioned. They worked fine when in those locomotives. Now --- not so good. The decoders seem to take the programming -- however, no movement -- from either one. Very strange. So -- I will take them both apart and check for any shorts or binding of the mechs. -- Onward and upward. Hope Y'all had a great weekend, Wolf
Successfully tested reverse loop functionality using my new N Scale road's control panel. I'll be running mostly DC equipment, but the panel provides for DCC input as well, so it's essential that my reverse loop control works with both DC and DCC. I'm pleased at the results, so can now begin to think about benchwork. [The control panel is fully lit with LEDs, but I didn't connect the lighting power supply for my tests.]
I got nothing done. Cold weather has arrived with snow. I ended up moving all the modules I’m working on I to the house to empty out the garage for cars.
Got some ballast work done along with a little ground cover and 2 more uncoupling magnets installed Not a lot but was fun.
That could work. --- Also the UV activated stuff may be an option. Matt medium is another option. Wolf
Been working on a few things, modifying points for a new module, putting together the first building for the new module, built a replacement LPG tank unloading platform for an existing module. Also weathered a pick up, still have the bed to do. Happy Railroading
I worked on an N scale project for the club layout. Finished the build today and will install drive motor this weekend..... Good kit and fun to build. Each little gondola (24) has 12 pieces to make it up. Of course, I had to put 0402 LEDs here, there and yon, but I love lights, they really add to a scene, especially on a club layout open to the public at Fair time.
that looks great, and this would be a great match. https://www.micro-trains.com/index....-maze-fun-house-circus-kit-rel-10-15-49990502
