The CMC Steel mill in Cayce, SC operates a number of vintage Alco units, including this RS-1 and S-1. Their big ol' Alco exhaust stacks are gone and I have no idea what now resides under their hoods. The RS-1 is former Washington Terminal 63. The S-2 is allegedly former RF&P 68. It's riding on Blunt trucks, a signature S-1 detail, so perhaps it was re-trucked at some time. JRWX is Johnson Railway Service of Anderson, SC. These are operated by remote control.

Going to say truck engines note truck style stacks on hoods.

Somewhere in California back in the 30s. SP called 2-10-2s Fs, as they were loath to call them "Santa Fe" types. This is an F4.

The ALCo S2 could be ordered with Blunt trucks. MILW had them. CGW as well.

Interesting! I didn't know that. (y) Looks like the rebuilder installed roller bearings in them.

Can't believe I never noticed the stacks were gone on these. I also see the 132 has had some paint work since the last time I saw her. Here she is a few years back.

Northbound on I-75 near Dalton GA a couple of Saturday's ago. There was a second one but there were a pair of trucks between it and me so no additional pics.

The Atlantic Coast Lumber Co. once owned 250,000 acres of timberland to feed its mills located at the port city of Georgetown, SC. It was a vast and successful enterprise that added electric locomotives to its roster in 1901, including six from Baldwin of the type seen here. Cars are lettered for the Georgetown & Western, also owned by the ACL Co. who re-gauged the line from 5' to standard gauge in 1886. The G&W was later sold to the SAL.

The ACL Co. also owned two steamships, Georgetown and Waccamaw and these made four trips a month bringing finished lumber north to Baltimore, Philadelphia and New York.

Definitely old equipment. Upwards of 40 years old. Marta just turned 40 and there was a story on the local news the other night about new cars being ordered from Siemens to begin the replace met of the fleet which is still mostly from start up of the system.

No idea where it was headed. I thought maybe the TVRM in Chattanooga but no one I know up there seemed to know about it.

Taken 11/02/2019, an NS northbound rolls through the Amtrak station at Clemson, SC on the former SOU main line. NS was busy this day, with three trains passing in 40 minutes. Also shown is the former SOU depot. Clemson University is the home of the Clemson Tigers, National Collegiate Football Champions of 2018.

Clemson University's Class of 1939 acquired this Southern Rwy. bay window caboose and it's located at the school's Heritage Gardens. Photo taken by Hardcoaler's kid. :)
