looking for some help in modeling a couple of items #1 what do I need to do to model this ex sp articulated coaches or diner that the Algoma Central purchased pic from rrfallenflags.org as these 2 pics have it listed as a diner the other coaches onto question number 2 these trucks where might I find them as their unusual to me also on Algoma Central another articulated that notb sure what it is other than SP
I'd start with a set of Kato articulated coaches. The tough part would be removing the corrugations. Wolf
A company called Union Station makes a number of N scale car sides for specific prototypes. I bought a kit several years ago for a Santa Fe streamlined "Jim Crow" segregated coach, an unusual design. The railroad only had 3 of them built in order to meet old Texas laws for segregating INTRA-state passengers and new all-streamlined Texas Chief design. One of these days I'll build the kit.
Actually there's only 3 trucks on those photos. Had to really look myself. The regular cars I'm trying to find that style of truck. Thanks for getting back on this everyone.

Wolfy great find just what I needed. Didn't know Kato had an articulated passenger car that would probably be a lot easier to convert to the union station car sides. Now just need to find those oddball truck's under the regular car
The Algoma Central articulated cars ride on the original SP trucks. Supposedly these cars were rebuilt by SP from the original fluted Daylight cars to become smoothside. The color photo you have included is actually one of the cars acquired from Canadian Pacific, not the articulated ones from SP. Here is the truck: they are top equalized with inside swing hangers. If you wanted to build the articulated cars, you don’t need this truck. This company makes N scale resin kits: http://www.central-hobbies.com/products/ggood.html They look to be a bit of a cottage industry/retailer. The first one listed in the N scale section is a CP 2200 series coach, the same cars the Algoma bought. If it is a complete kit and has the trucks, your problem is solved.
@Trainiac Actually that photo you hi lited is not a CP car unless the CP used the daylight emblem Midway down the side of the car. Easy SP sitting feature. And I have no idea on the ancestry of the photos I posted as I don't have a passenger guide. Looked on that site you linked and didn't see any passenger car kits
Yeah, totally. The car in my post is an SP car. I meant the color photo in your very first post, of car 430, the one with the bear logo. Those cars were bought from CP. They were numbered in the 2200 series, and I think the cars were referred to as “2200 series coaches” too, at least while they were owned by CP.
